The Leisure Guild
Pre-registration is open. The pay schedule for camping fee (which is in addition to the pre-reg fee)from last year is as follows. Unless there are objections, I am in faver of keeping it.
Jan/Feb with a $60 camp fee
Mar/Arp $80 camp fee
after Jun camp fee will be $120
Point of clarification- The 60 to 100 is the camping fee. It does in any way include the pre-reg cost, or the cash due at troll upon arrival.
If Anybody is going though a financial disaster which would make this unreasonable, please let me know now and we can work something out.
To pre-reg, create an account, or log in on an existing account. You will be asked to select a group from a drop-down list. The group name is "Leisure Guild" under "L". Pay-pal is a payment option if you have a paypal account. As soon as you are pre-reged, please contact me about paying your camping fee. Please let me know if there are any questions or problems, and remember that it's easier to register earlier. Let me know if you have any issues.
Guests and Guild Levels:
Your level within the Guild will determine the number of guests that you are eligible to bring, your decision making privileges/responsibilities, and voting rights. There are good reasons for this. The levels and numbers of guests will go as follows:
Guest of the Guild – 0
Apprentice – 0
Fellow-Craft – 2
Master – Master's discretion.
So how do you get to these levels you ask? Easy. A guest needs to be invited by a member in good standing, and must pre-reg with us. As membership starts at the apprentice level, your guests will not have voting privileges. One more note on guests: your guest is your responsibility. If they do something inappropriate, it means that you did something inappropriate.
An apprentice must camp for at least one year as a guest, and must then be voted in by a simple majority.
An apprentice may become a Fellow-Craft upon completion of their journeyman work. Your journeyman work is a project for the good of the guild. For example, purchasing or making embroidered fez's, making a better shower, building a galley, etc. would all be acceptable for your journeyman work. Your project must be complete and submit before you can be awarded journeyman status. If you wish to bring a guest this summer, I highly recommend that you start talking to me about project ideas asap.
A journeyman may become a Master by bringing honer to the Leisure Guild. For example, last summer [info]grim_piper won prestigious music competitions which brought honer onto our house. As he also made our badges last summer (which is being counted as his journeyman work, he currently holds the title of master.)
